Healthy Homemade Hummus (5 minutes!)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Can (15oz) Chickpeas, drained or 1.5 cup cooked chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp Tahini
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1/2 Lemon squeezed
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 cup Ice Cold Water or more

Instructions
 

  • Rinse and strain canned garbanzo beans in a colander or strainer.
  • Using a blender or food processor, add strained garbanzo beans, peeled garlic, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice from 1/2 squeezed lemon, paprika and salt. Blend the hummus for 30 seconds
  • Pour in ice cold water. Start with 1/3 cup and blend for up to a minute. If you like the consistency, stop here. If you desire a thinner consistency to the hummus, add more ice water.
  • Taste and add more seasoning/salt if desired.
  • Serve and enjoy with veggies, pita, in gyro's etc.

Notes

Refrigerate: Up to 5 days in an air tight container
Freeze: Up to 3 months. 
Keep in mind that the freezing process can add more moisture into the  hummus, making it slightly thinner in consistency.
